Yoshi Loya 97, formerly of Logee St., passed away on January 19, 2024, at The Holiday Retirement Home in Lincoln. Born in Japan, she was a daughter of the late Katuzo and Fusa Sukegawa. Yoshi worked in environmental services for Landmark Medical Center for over thirty years. She was a member of the Woonsocket and Lincoln Senior Centers and St. Agatha’s Seniors. Yoshi loved people, with her infectious smile she made friends easily. She loved dancing and playing bingo.
She was predeceased by her lifelong companion Robert Beauchesne. Yoshi is survived by her sons George Loya and his wife Melanie of Wilmington, NC, twins Vincent and Lawrence Loya of Idaho, eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Wayne and Richard Loya, and siblings Nobu and Yasuo Sukegawa, Tomika Yokoyama and Asako Kawasaki.
Her funeral will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket beginning at 9:00 am with a service in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
