William E. Reynolds 99, of Richmond St. passed away on January 23, 2023 at home. He was the loving husband of the late Rita M. (Gauthier) Reynolds. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna (Cohan) Reynolds. Bill joined the US Army Air Corps and served during WWII in France, Belgium, and Germany. He was the foreman for the Department of Public Works for the Town of Blackstone for twenty-three years before retiring in 1989. For a time, he also worked as the town’s Animal Control Officer and Cable Commissioner. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department for several years. Bill enjoyed day trips, going to the ocean, traveling, listening to music, the New England Patriots, woodworking, and especially family time. He was also known to tell a good joke, listen to gossip, and you could find him on his porch, aka news central. Bill was a life-time member of the Millerville Men’s Club, and a member of the American Legion Post #85. He was widely known throughout Blackstone for his many years of employment, volunteering, and his charismatic personality.
He is survived by his son Edward F. Reynolds and his wife Caryn of Blackstone, daughter Christine Reynolds of Woonsocket, four grandchildren Sarah, Patrick, Kimberly, and William, four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Arianna, and Kasandra and Viviynne, and one great-great-grandchild Mya. Bill was predeceased by his loving companion of many years Lillian Sinko, and siblings Francis Reynolds, Barbara Irza and Mary Wood.
His funeral will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier& Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Church, St. Paul St., Blackstone, MA. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone. Visiting hours are Friday, January 27, 2023, from 4-7 PM.
