William T. Forbes, 74, of Mapleville, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2021. William was born on June 16, 1946 to Edward J. Forbes and Mary E. Cain of Boston, MA. After William graduated from Bellingham High School in 1964, he went right to work in the automotive field, where he would thrive for the rest of his life. William went on to open Imported Car Care in Scituate, RI and later Forbes Auto Body in Woonsocket. As the owner of a full service automotive center for over 40 years, working on cars was both his business and his passion.
In 1967, William married Eva M. Peloquin and together they had two sons, William C. Forbes and Thomas E. Forbes. William was a loving father and a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: Christopher, Jacob, William, and Larissa, and is also survived by his brother Edward J. Forbes Jr, of CO. He took pride in maintaining his home and loved fishing, baseball, and horseshoes.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife Eva.
His funeral will be held Friday, March 19 at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St, Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Our Lady of Good Help Church, Mapleville. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held Thursday 5-7 PM. Face masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
