Victor M. Forget Jr. 72, of Arnold St. died August 19, 2021 at Greenville Health Center. He was the husband of the late Barbara ( Robinson ) Forget. Born in Manchester, NH, he was a son of the late Victor and Rose (Duquette) Forget. Victor was a machine operator for Dennison Corp. Victor served valiantly in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart with two gold stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze campaign stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 device, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Medal Color with Palm), Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Citation (Civil Actions Medal, First Class Color with Palm), Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by his son Michael Forget of Woonsocket, a daughter Shannon McKinnon of Waterville, ME, his brother Leo, his sisters Terry and Linda, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Bianco.
His funeral will be held Saturday, August 28, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, Woonsocket, with a prayer service beginning at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday 5-7 PM.
