Vera (Thomson) Forcier 87, formerly of Narragansett and Woonsocket, passed away Saturday, May 28, in the St. Elizabeth Home. She was the wife of the late Roland Forcier whom she met while he was stationed in England, serving the US Air Force. Vera was born in London, England, the daughter of the late James and Constance (Hoad) Thomson. She worked as a frame assembler for C.D. Burns in North Smithfield for many years. Vera was a former member of the St. Agatha Senior Citizens in Woonsocket and served as a volunteer for the Coast Guard Auxillary and was a devoted animal lover. She was also a member of the Trans Atlantic Brides and Parents Association, where she met many long term friends including her beloved friend Jean Giguere. Vera always remembered her English roots and was looking forward to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as she was in attendance for Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation. She enjoyed her final years living at the beach in Narragansett.
She is survived by her daughters Donna Theroux and her husband Dr. James Theroux of Narragansett, and Kim Morgado and her husband Ray of Swansea, MA, and her sister-in-law Jeanne Forcier of Woonsocket. She was also the mother of the late Garry Forcier.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM, in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St, Woonsocket, followed by a brief service at 10:45. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery.
