Therese J. Gerlache, 80, of Woonsocket died peacefully Tuesday April 14, 2026 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Robert J. Gerlache.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Clemence (Pratt) Coutu. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Therese was employed with Gerwood Business Services for many years. Her work consisted of microfilming medical records for hospitals and doctors’ offices. Therese was a volunteer for several years for Meals-on-Wheels doing her part to help those in need. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo. She had a keen eye for yard sales and was known for her ability to spot a bargain from a hundred miles away! Therese will be remembered for her love and care for her family and those closest to her.
In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her daughter Janet Kenyon and her husband Russell of Woonsocket and her son Steven Calo all of Woonsocket She was the mother of the late Robert John Calo who passed away in 2000 and the late Roger Leo Coutu who passed way in 2024. She was the sister of Rachel Patenaude of Maine and the late Leo Coutu , Charles “Charlie” Coutu, Charlotte Nault, and Suzanne Coutu. Therese is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Services for Therese are private. She will be laid to rest at a later date. Arrangements are by the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket.
