Roger O. Riendeau, 97, of Bellingham, MA, a retired toolmaker at Northrop Corporation, Norwood, MA., passed away on March 28, 2025 at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. Born in Woonsocket, RI on January 30, 1928, he was the son of the late Alfred and Emma (Brouillette) Riendeau. He was the stepson of the late Alice (Mailloux) Riendeau. He was the husband of Regina (Filiponi) Riendeau.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Jeannette (Plante), his brothers Roland of Woonsocket, RI, Normand and Alfred, both of Port St. Lucie, FL, and his stepchildren Gary and Guy Guilbault of RI.
Mr. Riendeau, an Army veteran of WWII, was a member of Elks Lodge #850 and served as Exalted Ruler and various other positions. Roger enjoyed his annual summer travels with then wife Jeannette who were married April 3, 1948, to various places around the country including Hawaii and Alaska; several trips to California and Minnesota to visit family, and many states in between. He married his current wife, Regina, in Reno, NV on July 8, 2003. Roger and Regina continued their summer travels for many years. In addition to traveling, Roger loved gardening, being with people, sitting for hours doing the Woonsocket Call puzzles, Keno, and sitting by his wood stove during the cold winter days.
Besides his wife Regina, he leaves four children: Roger N. (Lynn) of Kansas, Pauline T. (Michael Weisz) of Florida, Raymond R. (Suzette) of Oakland, RI and Jan Marie Rondeau (Robert) of Cumberland RI; six step-children, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
His Funeral with visitation will be held on April 3, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM at Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St, Woonsocket, RI and concluding with a service in the funeral home at 11:30 AM. Burial in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
