Robert H. Ferland 74, of Parkview Manor, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at home. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Sylvio and Faye (Barrs) Ferland.  Robert was an army veteran of the Vietnam War. While much of his early working life was spent in local textile mills, his greatest love was cooking and he worked in the kitchen and cafeteria at Landmark Medical Center as well as the RI Rehabilitation Hospital before retiring in 2015. Mostly he will be remembered as a great and loving brother who loved animals.

He is survived by his siblings: Marcel Ferland of Woonsocket, James Ferland of Bellingham, and Sylvia Belhumeur of Woonsocket. He was also the brother of the late Lawrence, Ronald, Patricia and Linda Ferland.

His funeral with Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket. The family will receive guests at 9:30 inside the entrance to the church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
