Rita A. Charpentier 92, of Clinton St. passed away on February 18, 2023, at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late George A. Charpentier. Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Armand and Anna (Bergeron) Grondin. Rita was employed by several local industries before retiring in 1995 after working at CVS Warehouse for several years. Rita was an active member in the former St. Ann’s / All Saints Ladies Guild for many years, and served on the Advisory Board for the Kennedy Manor Social Club. Rita enjoyed spending her days playing cribbage and bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles and crocheting.
She is survived by a son Paul Charpentier and his wife Cynthia of Wrentham, MA, three daughters Denise Lincourt and her husband William and Jeanne Phaneuf and her husband Roland all of North Smithfield, and Suzanne Rhew of Rumford, ME, three sisters Therese Grondin of Blackstone, and Marie Darveau and Pauline Ledoux both of Woonsocket, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Rita was predeceased by seven brothers Rene, Rosaire, Robert, Roger, Roland, Raymond, and Ronald Grondin.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Friday, February 24, 2023, from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to St. Ann’s Art and Cultural Center, PO Box 79, Woonsocket, RI 02895, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
