Rachel E (LaBarre) Lemoine

Rachel E. Lemoine 94, of Village Way, North Smithfield, formerly of Old River Rd. in Manville, passed way on October 19, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Lucien W. Lemoine. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Herve and Cora (Brunette) LaBarre. In her youth Rachel worked as a dental assistant for the US Public Dental Health Service and later was a fulltime homemaker caring for her family. She was a member of The League of St. Jude, St. Ann’s Grandmother’s Club, and The Praying Hands Daily Catholic Devotion. She was also a member of the RI Table Tennis Club in Manville, and the Callahan Sr. Center in Framingham Table Tennis Club. Rachel volunteered at the Holiday Nursing Home, was a member of St. John’s Folk Choir and the Slatersville Sr. Center.

She is survived by her children, Louise D. Evans of Johnston, Lucien G. Lemoine of Cumberland, Mary M. Lachance of North Smithfield with whom she lived, and Joseph T. Lemoine of North Smithfield, a brother George LaBarre of Auburn, MA, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her brother Herve A. LaBarre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, Division St. in Manville, RI. Burial in St. James Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908 in her memory would be appreciated.
