Patrick Michael “Mike” McAssey of Upper Eager Rd, Newfane, VT, formerly of North Smithfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Jody Lynn (Grimard) McAssey his life partner of thirty-two years whom he married May 23, 2007. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late James Thomas and Mildred (MacLeod) McAssey Sr. Mike was an engineer for the Raytheon Corporation for thirty years, retiring in 2012.

He also advocated for electric buses for students. Mike supported local welcoming efforts to refugees from Afghanistan. In his wood shop he crafted gifts for his family upon his lathe.

In 2012, Mike was initiated into Mankind Project, which empowers men to missions of service. He went on to hold office as the MKP, RI Coordinator and the NE Co-leader Elder. Recently, he received the Ron Hering Mission Service Award, offered by the New England Elder Council.
