Patricia Rayos Obituary

Blackstone, MA

Patricia E. “Pat” (Billetdoux) Rayos, 91, was welcomed into heaven by her devoted husband, the late Dr. Jose Rayos. She passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glens Falls, NY, the daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Dantz) Billetdoux.  She was educated in the Hudson Falls public schools, and a graduate of the Amsterdam Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a dedicated pediatric nurse at New York State Hospital for many years, where she met the love of her life, Jose “Joe”.  She made the decision to retire from nursing in 1958 once she started a family, and would go on to care for their seven children. She was a caring, supportive and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother (memere), and friend.  She was an unassumingly strong and selfless woman, who always put others first.  Her family will remember her dearly for her sweet and fun-loving demeanor.  She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Pat liked playing Mahjong, cards, crossword puzzles, and reading.  She was an avid New England sports fan.

She leaves behind her loving children: Leon Rayos & his wife Rosemarie of  Woonsocket, Jose Rayos & his wife Lora of Blackstone, Juan Rayos of North Carolina, Patrick Rayos & his wife Michele of Mendon, Betsy Beauchamp & her husband Marc of Blackstone, Mary Stone & her husband James of Blackstone, and Paulette Adams & her husband Jeffrey of Newton, MA, along with eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition she is survived by her brother-in-law Ernest Underwood along with her beloved nieces and nephew. She was also the grandmother of the late Melissa-Jo, and dear sister of the late Joan Underwood.
