Maureen York 79, of Knollwood Dr. passed away on May 12, 2026, at Mt. St. Rita Health Center. She was the wife of Richard S. York. Born in Ashland, MA, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Edith (Nolan) Sullivan Sr. Maureen spent most of her life caring for her home and family. She also worked part time for the School Lunch Program. Maureen was an avid reader. She loved everything Disney (especially Micky Mouse) and took many trips to Disney World with her family. She was an amazing Nana and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband she leaves her children, David DeCoste and his wife Dottie of Bellingham, Diana Gamache and her husband James of North Smithfield, and Maureen Gazaille and her husband Keith of GA, a brother Daniel Sullivan and his wife Sue of PA, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Maureen was predeceased by her son Scott DeCoste, stepdaughter Robyn Fink and brothers G.L. “Larry” Sullivan and Richard Sullivan Jr.
Her funeral will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a prayer service beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. In lieu of flowers donations to Continuum Care of RI
