Mary (Belba) Gaudet

Mary Gaudet 95, formerly of Woonsocket, died July 30, 2018 in Roswell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Omer R. Gaudet and Paul P. Sylvestre Sr. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Costache and Vasilika (Alex) Belba. Mary lived most of her life in Woonsocket, before moving to Georgia. Mary had worked at the former French Worsted Co. for many years, and Miller Electric Co. and then retired from AT Cross in the early 1970’s. She was a member of the Parkview Club. Mary always greeted you with a smile along with her pleasant personality. She loved fashion and would always display them with her utmost beauty. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters Jeanne St. Onge of Roswell, GA and Jeannette Anderson of Rimrock, AZ, step-sons Raymond Gaudet of Holden, MA and Roger Gaudet of Glendale, step-daughters, Denise Daigle of Woonsocket, and Rachel Guilbault of Pascoag, a brother Charles Belba of Duarte, CA, fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Paul P. Sylvestre Jr. and siblings Stephen, Peter, James, John, Liberty, and Thomas Belba, Flora Thompson, Alexandria Scanlon, Elizabeth Rondeau, and Lillian Cianci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Donations in her memory to Cure Childhood Cancer, 200 Ashford Center North, Suite 250, Atlanta, GA, would be appreciated.
