Lucien R. Goulet

Lucien R. Goulet, lifelong resident of Woonsocket, passed away on January 11, 2021 after a brief illness. He would have been 92 on January 17, of this year.  He was the husband of the late Aline (Desrochers) Goulet for sixty-five years, who passed away in 2015. Lucien worked for Almac’s Supermarket as store manager providing outstanding customer service for thirty years retiring in 1995.

He leaves behind five boys, Andre Goulet and his wife Irene of Chepachet, RI; Marcel Goulet and his wife Susan of Seattle, WA; Gerard Goulet and his wife Nadine of Phoenix, AZ; Normand Goulet of Mendon, MA; and Ronald Goulet and his wife Brenda of Smithfield, RI. He leaves seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Until recently Lucien was a resident at Kennedy Manor and prior to that St. Germain Manor both in Woonsocket. He was very active in their social clubs and always willing to lend a hand. He loved to play bingo and virtual bowling. In May of last year, Lucien moved to Wyndemere Woods where he enjoyed the care and attention he received from the staff. Lucien was a parishioner of St. John Vianney and a member of the senior club where everyone he met enjoyed his company. Lucien had a hobby of asking you when he first met you and what your first name was so he could tell you its origin and meaning. He will be greatly missed by his family and many people he met along his journey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland RI.
