Lorraine C (Carpentier) DuHamel

Lorraine C. DuHamel “Laury” 79, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021. She was the devoted wife of the late Bertrand DuHamel. Lorraine was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Gabriel and Cecilia (Houle) Carpentier. Lorraine worked as a legal secretary for Hinckley & Allen, and also with Fleet Bank for many years, retiring in 2007. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, crossword puzzles, music, and was an avid Patriots fan. Her commitment to do and find the good in life made her a friend to many and a ray of sunshine to all!  She was a loving and caring mother and is survived by her son Steven DuHamel and his wife Brenda of Woonsocket, her grandchildren Nicholas and Allison, and her siblings: Claudette Remillard of Pascoag, Jeannine Lambert of South Carolina, Suzanne Berard of Woonsocket, Charles Carpentier of North Smithfield, Raymond Carpentier of Franklin, MA, Denise Mowry of Burrillville, and Normand “Butch” Carpentier of Woonsocket. She was also the sister of the late Roger Carpentier. Her funeral will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St, Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Precious Blood Church. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours will be Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Rhode Island Food Bank, as Lorraine routinely did.
