Jeannine (Cloutier) Saumur

Jeannine Saumur 93, of Wood Ave., passed away on July 19, 2023 at the Philip Hulitar Center. She was the wife of the late Roger C. Saumur. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Armand and Irene (Marquis) Cloutier. Jeannine spent most of her life caring for her family. She later worked for American Tourister and Tech Industries before retiring. Jeannine enjoyed needle point on plastic canvas and making jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her children Jacqueline Belanger of Woonsocket, Richard Saumur and his wife Ruth of ME, Marc Saumur and his wife Carol of Woonsocket, Claire Allard of N. Smithfield, Irene Saumur and her husband Mark of ME and Mary Anne Perry and her husband Steve of Coventry, two brothers, Rene Cloutier of Worcester, and Rev. Roland Cloutier of CT, fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lorraine Gagnon and was predeceased by her siblings Lillian Plante, Olive Turcotte, Paul Cloutier, and Joseph Cloutier.

Her funeral and visiting hours will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM with a prayer service at 11:00 AM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
