Jeannette G. (Pirani) Laplante

Jeannette G. Laplante 98, of Paine St. died November 5, 2018 at home. She was the wife of the late Donat J. Laplante. Born in Blackstone, she was a daughter of the late Dante and Yvonne (Verhulst) Pirani. Jeannette spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sports especially the Patriots. Jeannette was an accomplished artist. She served as the past President of The Mother’s Club at Mt. St. Charles Academy, a past officer of the Franco American Club in Bellingham and was a member and past president of the Ladies of St. Anne at the former Assumption Church.

She is survived by her children, Gabrielle Laplante of Johnston, Edouard Laplante of N. Attleboro, Joseph Laplante of Westborough, Julie Lacroix of Redondo Beach, CA, Jacqueline Laplante of Bellingham, Mitch Laplante of Kiawah Island, SC, Antoine Laplante of TX, Albert Laplante of Cape Cod, Catherine Laplante of Bellingham, and Philippe Laplante of Greenville, twenty grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son William Laplante and a brother John Pirani. Jeannette was a mentor, nurturer, and friend. She was totally devoted to her family and church. She will be greatly missed.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 PM.
