Jeanne S. Roy 72, of Elm St. passed away on June 14, 2025. She was the wife of the late Wayne R. Roy. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Herve and Colombe (Desmarais) Desaulniers. Jeanne worked at the former Tupperware and was the first woman material handler. She then joined the US Army and served six years active duty and four years in the reserves. After Jeanne was honorably discharged from the Army she worked at various companies including, Replacement Auto Parts, the Woonsocket Call and lastly at Family Resources.
Jeanne loved gardening, which is very apparent from the beautiful flowers and trees growing in her backyard. She loved animals and donated to many animal societies. Jeanne also enjoyed needlepoint and was a huge history buff.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Adam J. Roy and his wife Nikki of Attleboro, Josh J. Roy and his wife Jenna of Chepachet, and Melissa J. Roy of Pawtucket, and grandchildren, Jackson, Mackenzie and Fox. She also leaves her fiancé Frederick E. Bailey Jr. and brothers Henri and Raymond Desaulniers and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was predeceased by her sister Rita Desjardins.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket from 4-7 PM. Burial will be private.
