Ida L. Hoyt 82, of Rhodes Ave. passed away June 9, 2021 at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Hector and Daisy (Houle) Champagne. In her youth, Ida worked for the former US Rubber Co. for many years. She later worked as a CNA for St. Antoine Residence and Wyndamere Woods. Ida loved ballroom dancing and going to the casino.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Jolicoeur and her husband Raymond of North Smithfield, and Bet Gentz and her husband Randy of Greenville, her siblings, Armand Champagne and his wife Karen of Pascoag, and Simone Daniels of Mississippi. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Benedict and her husband Robert of San Diego, CA and Brian Jolicoeur and his wife Devyn of North Smithfield, as well as her great-grandson Nathan Benedict of San Diego, CA. She was the sister of the late Margarete Dubois, Madeline Lambert, Leon “Champ” Champagne, Pamela Pare, Pearl Gonsalves, and Robert Champagne.
Her funeral with visitation will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., from 9-11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Blackstone.
