Henry Attilio Valati, age 65, died suddenly on November 5 at home. He was the husband of Timothy Chuck.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on July 9, 1957, he was the son of the late Attilio and Simonne (Turcotte) Valati. He was a lifetime resident of Blackstone.
Besides husband Tim whom he met in 1993, Henry is survived by his sisters Frances Brew (Thomas) of Cotuit and Louise (Gregory Walsh) of Cape Elizabeth, ME, nephews Jasper Walsh and Brian Brew, nieces Haley Brew McMurray and Jamie Walsh, and many cousins and friends.
Henry was a 1975 graduate of Blackstone-Millville Regional High School, received his BA from Tufts University in 1979 and MA from Emerson College.
Henry was a sales manager and agent for William Raveis Real Estate Prime in Franklin. Previously he held positions as web developer at Shareholder.com and President of Henry’s Auto Parts, Blackstone. He was a former board member of the Blackstone-Millville School Committee, Blackstone Senior Center and Blackstone Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
Henry was known by his many friends for his warmth and sense of humor. His favorite activity was socializing. He loved people and was well-known as an engaging conversationalist who took a sincere interest in others. He was generous with his time and took particular interest in rescuing many shelter dogs. He was loved and will be missed by many.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at Savini’s Pomodoro, 476 Rathbun Street, Woonsocket, RI, on Friday, November 18, beginning at 9:00 AM with Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
