Gilberte L. “Jill” Laprade, 87, of Woonsocket, died Sunday, April 6, 2025, with her family beside her. She was the loving wife of the late Albert J. “Bert” Laprade. They were married on September 1, 1958, and shared over 62 years together in marriage until his passing in February 2021.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, she was the only child of the late Simeon and Florida (Dulac) Gravel. She was a lifelong resident of the city, and a graduate of Woonsocket High School.
Jill worked at Tupperware, Miller Electric, and Kay Jewelers. She was employed for nearly 20 years at CVS/Mark Stevens before retiring in 1993.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Ann’s Parish (subsequently, All Saints Parish) and later, St. Joseph’s Parish.
Although they did not ride motorcycles, Jill and her husband Bert were avid members of the United Motorcycle Club.
Jill enjoyed dancing and singing to music of all styles. She will be remembered for her outgoing, cheerful and friendly personality. Some of her most cherished times were when she was taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Paul A. Laprade of Rockford, Illinois; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie A. and Frank Anzivino of Lincoln, and her brother and sister-in-law Roland and Konnie Laprade, formerly of Woonsocket. She was the proud grandmother of Thomas Anzivino and his wife Maria, Steven Anzivino, Nathaniel Laprade, and Jonathan Laprade. She is also survived by an extended family of many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 22, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 1200 Mendon Road, Woonsocket. Jill will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
