George W. Dumas 86, formerly of East School St, passed away Tuesday, October 14, in the Friendly Home. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late William and Edna (Gouin) Dumas. George was the owner of the New Quality Restaurant in Woonsocket for many years and worked in the maintenance department of Shaw’s Super Market in Woonsocket. He enjoyed playing softball in the Field of Dreams Softball League, watching westerns, riding his motorcycle, and going to the gym. Above all he loved his family and loved spending time with them. He is survived by his children: Melissa Rouleau of Uxbridge, Dawn Morelle and her husband Christopher of Woonsocket, stepchildren; Ronnie Dubois of Woonsocket and Tammy Menear of MD, his sister Beatrice Paul of FL, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased byall his other many siblings.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 So. Main St, Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
Visiting hours will be Monday 5-7 PM.
