Gabrielle A Laplante

Gabrielle “Gaby” Laplante 84, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering family devotion. Born on February 22, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Donat and Jeannette (Pirani) Laplante. Gaby was an LPN at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital for fifty years. She also dabbled part-time in Real Estate. She was an active parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Scituate and a member of the Ladies Guild. Gaby was a member of the American French Genealogical Society and the unofficial family historian and spent endless hours tracing their roots. Gaby was an avid reader, she loved traveling, gardening and her lake. She was also a lifelong lover of animals, sharing her home and heart with many beloved cats and dogs.

Gaby is survived by her siblings, Edouard Laplante of N. Attleboro, Julie Lacroix of CA, Jacqueline Laplante of Bellingham, Mitch Laplante of Tampa, Antoine Laplante of TX, Albert Laplante of Cape Cod, Catherine Laplante of Wareham, and Philippe Laplante of Smithfield, the late William Laplante and Joseph Laplante with whom she remained incredibly close throughout her life. She also leaves her nieces and nephews and their children whom she loved as if they were her own.

He funeral will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, beginning with visitation from 9:00- 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St Josephs Church, Danielson Pike, Scituate RI at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private.
