Frank X. Urrico formerly of N. Smithfield and N. Kingstown, RI, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, in Tampa, FL, at the age of 95. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Muriel (Rondeau). Frank will be lovingly remembered by his children, Anthony (Tomoko), Chris (Wendy), Anne Shawkey (Scott), and Betsy Brandes (Will); his sister Grace Urrico; and grandchildren, Carrie, Emily, Julia and Michael Shawkey, and Caleb and Lydia Brandes. He was also preceded in death by his sister Mary Mencucci.
Frank received BSEE and MBA degrees from URI and an MAPM degree from Providence College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and later served six years as a civilian volunteer on the US DOE Nuclear Emergency Search Team (NEST). He held several engineering positions in the semiconductor and nuclear fields and retired from Electro-Films, Inc, a thin film micro-circuit manufacturer, as VP of Engineering. Frank will be remembered for his dedication to his family and church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:30AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
