Estelle T. (Boulet) Chagnon

Estelle T. Chagnon 92, of Pichette Blvd. passed away on February 2, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Center. She was the wife of the late J. Rene Chagnon. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Marc and Flore (Bourget) Boulet. Estelle was a telephone operator for five years from 1946-1952.She later worked for the Woonsocket School Dept. Lunch Program for twenty-five years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Estelle was a member of St. Joseph’s Sr. Citizens and the YMCA Fitness Club. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family, line dancing, square dancing, and bowling.

Estelle is survived by her children, Raymond Chagnon MD and his wife Margaret of Farmington, CT, and Lucille Rodrigues and her husband Joseph of East Providence; a sister Lorraine Obrist and her husband Larry of Lincoln, NE; and two grandchildren, Larissa Morrell and Darrel Perkins. She was predeceased by her daughter Denise R. Chagnon, a grandson Ross Chagnon, and her brother Jules Boulet.

A Mass of Cristian Burial will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. The family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 AM in church. Burial in Precious Blood Cemetery will be private.
