Emile J. Riendeau 86, of Mendon Rd. died on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at The Philip Hulitar Center. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Gagnon) Riendeau. Born in Albion, RI he was a son of the late Olivier and Flore (Lariviere) Riendeau. Emile was a self- employed carpenter and the owner and operator of Rite Builders Inc. for twenty- three years. After he retired from Rite Builders, he was an independent subcontractor for several area construction companies for many years. Emile served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He enjoyed boating and camping with his family. Emile was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was a former member of the Amvets. He will be greatly missed by his canine buddy “Maggie”.
Emile is survived by his son Donald Riendeau and his wife Deborah of Woonsocket, and his daughter Barbara Johnson and her husband Leonard of Douglas, MA, his twin brother Camille Riendeau of Woonsocket, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Wildor “Sam” Riendeau, Lorraine Petrone, and Jean Paul Riendeau.
His funeral will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8 PM. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
