Emile A. Picard 90, formerly of Black Plain Rd, North Smithfield passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 in Bayberry Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving husband of the late Frances (Atteridge) Picard. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Armand and Suzanne (Cormier) Picard. Emile was a textile machinery mechanic for many years in many local textile mills. He also worked as a tree topper clearing trees to make way for Routes 295 and 495. He enjoyed camping with his wife in Bar Harbour, ME, as well spending time tinkering and fixing things. He was often engaged in projects with his son Ken. He was an amazing man of many interests and talents.
He is survived by his sons Eric Picard of Randolph, ME, Ken Picard of Bellingham, MA, and Roy Picard of Bradford, RI, four grandchildren: Leah, Lexi, Eric Jr, and Serena, and two great grandsons, Dakota and Oliver, and his siblings, Albert Picard of Framingham and Cecile White of VA. He was also the brother of the late Armand Picard, Alice Leonardi, and Lillian Plante. A committal service will be held Friday, June 14 at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Pascoag, RI.
