Edgar L. Levreault

Edgar L. Levreault 92, of Fall St. passed away on June 26, 2024, at Miriam Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Claire (Barrette) Levreault. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Ludovic and Jeannette (Laplante) Levreault. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served proudly during the Korean War from 1952-1954 as a Sergeant. Edgar had a speaking part in a 1953 movie, “Cease Fire”, about the Korean War. He worked for Carlings Black Label Brewing Co. in Natick, MA for twenty-one years until their closing. He then worked various jobs for local businesses before retiring from the maintenance department of the Woonsocket School Department after twelve years. Edgar was a coach for his sons’ Little League and Baseball teams for several years. He enjoyed going to Twin River, walks in the cemetery, playing cards and buying lottery tickets. Edgar was an avid New England Patriots fan. He also volunteered at the New Beginnings Soup Kitchen and at the Broaster House Booth during Autumnfest.

Edgar is survived by his children, Paul Levreault and his wife Denise, Joanne Choquette and her husband Michael, and John Levreault all of Woonsocket, Normand Levreault and his wife Celeste of ME, and Lise-Anne Trudeau and her husband Brian of Bellingham, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren and a sister, Sr. Jacqueline Levreault, Presentation of Mary, Hudson, NH. He was predeceased by his son Gerard Levreault and his wife Judy and siblings, Raymond, Jeanne, and Pauline Levreault.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, RI 02895 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham, MA. Visiting hours are Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to New Beginnings Soup Kitchen, 24 Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895 in his memory would be appreciated.
