Doris M. (Sawyer) Desrochers, 89, of Privilege St., passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Leo M. Desrochers. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Yvonne (Beausoleil) Sawyer.
Mrs. Desrochers was a founder of the Woonsocket Youth Hockey and was a member of the American-French Genealogical Society. She enjoyed crochet, traveling and poker.
She is survived by her three children, Jeanne M. McCarthy of Kissimmee, FL, Leo M. Desrochers, Jr., of Hyannis, MA and Robert L. Desrochers of Foster; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was the sister of Gerard L. Sawyer of Chepachet, Rose Marie Brissette, Alice Lambert and Patricia Cote, all of Woonsocket and the late Richard Sawyer.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 9AM from Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Joseph Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Visitation Tuesday 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to St Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
