Donald L. Plante 87, formerly of St. Louis Ave. passed away on October 14, 2022, at Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Auclair) Plante. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Henri and Lillian (Bellerose) Plante. Don was a toolmaker for North American Phillips Corp. in Slaterville for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Don was also a competitive trap shooter winning titles at the state, regional, and national levels. He was a lifetime member of the Cumberland and Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Clubs.
He is survived by his sons Michael F. Plante of North Smithfield, and Timothy Plante of Pascaog, a brother Normand Plante of AZ, two grandchildren, Tara and Kristopher Plante, and two great grandchildren Emery and Luca. He was predeceased by a brother Arthur Plante.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. The family will greet guests at church beginning at 9:30 AM.
