Côme J. Duhamel 86, of Cumberland Hill Rd. passed away on November 17, 2021, at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Shirley T. (Allard) Duhamel and Esther (Felicio) Duhamel. Born in Canada, he was a son of the late Emile and Jeannette (Cotnoir) Duhamel. Côme worked for the Construction and General Laborers Local Union 609. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Côme was a thirty-year member of the Woonsocket Elks Club, a member of the Par-X Club, Club Lafayette, the American Cribbage Club, St. Joseph’s Veteran Association, Millerville Men’s Club and the Laborers International Union of North America. Côme volunteered for The Milk Fund for many years. He also enjoyed spending time at Twin River Casino.
Côme is survived by his sons, Bryan Duhamel of Richmond Heights, OH, and Russell Duhamel of Woonsocket; a stepdaughter, Donna Zimmerman of Blackstone; a sister Carmen Perreault of Long, SC; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was also the father of the late James Duhamel.
Committal prayers will be held Friday, November 26, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the chapel of St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. In lieu of flowers donations to the Milk Fund c/o WOON 985 Park Ave, Woonsocket, RI 02895 in his memory would be appreciated.
