Clara A (Jolicoeur) Marquis

Clara A. Marquis 88, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at home. Born in Putnam, CT she was a daughter of the late Telesphore and Stella (Auclair) Jolicoeur. She was the beloved wife of Roger A. Marquis for sixty-eight years. Clara was the co-owner of Marquis Oil Company along with her husband, for twenty years. They retired early and were able to enjoy traveling around the world. Clara and Roger spent many years in Florida and enjoyed being snowbirds. Clara enjoyed gardening, volunteering, and playing bocce and bowling. Her greatest joy was being a mom to her two children, Joyce and David. She also loved her dog Sam.

Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter Joyce A. Marquis of Woonsocket, granddaughters, Ashley Tillet and Taylor Combs of NC, and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son David Marquis and granddaughter Jammie Marquis. Clara also leaves three sisters, Janet Richards, and Rose Tanzilli both of Florida, and Ann Modrich of NC, a brother Normand Jolicoeur of Pascoag and extended family member David Chartier. She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret (June) Morgan, Mary Tessier, Paul, Leo and Ernest Jolicoeur.

****Visiting hours Tuesday, December 19, 2023, have been canceled and postponed to December 27, 2023 at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, from 4-7 PM concluding with a prayer service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Harmony Hospice, 931 Jefferson Blvd. Ste 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 in her memory would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Lisa, Kris and Keri for the exceptional care and love they gave to Clara.
