Charles A. Desaulniers 92, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025 in St. Antoine Residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Claudette (Viotto) Desaulniers. They were married for sixty-four years prior to her passing in February of last year. Charlie was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Rodolphe and Aurore (Beaudreault) Desaulniers and was a 1951 graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and would later work as a printer for Bliss Press, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Cercle Laurier and played softball in the Field of Dreams Softball League for many years. Mostly, Charlie would be remembered for his love of music, and his beautiful singing voice. He was a member of the Ocean State Chorus and Barber Shop Quartet and The Veritones. He entertained residents of many area nursing homes in Woonsocket and performed in numerous Stadium Theatre Christmas concerts.
He is survived by his children: John Desaulniers of Glendale, Donald Desaulniers and his wife Linda of Harrisville, Thomas Desaulniers and his wife Pam of Cumberland, and Helene Desaulniers of Woonsocket, four grandchildren, and his sister Lucille Soucy of Woonsocket. He was predeceased by his brother Andre Desaulniers, Pauline Horent, Marguerite Solon, and Therese Bergeron.
His funeral will be held Monday, March 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 So. Main St, Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in St. Agatha's Church, Joffre Ave. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visitation will be Sunday, March 22, 1-4 PM.
