Bernadette "Bernie" (Girard) Gamache

Bernadette “Bernie” Gamache 99, of Mendon Rd. passed away on April 21, 2023, at home with her family by her side. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Yvonne (Ethier) Girard. Bernie was a stitcher for the former US Rubber Co. Woonsocket Dress and Fashion Sportswear. After her retirement she worked part time as a dietary aide for the former Fogarty Hospital. Bernie was a member of St. Joseph’s Choir for forty years. She also volunteered at the Church’s Bingo for thirty-five years and was a member of the Lady’s Guild, and St. Joseph Senior Citizens.  

Bernie is survived by her children, Therese E. Gamache, Suzanne P. Monteiro, and Richard E. Gamache all of Woonsocket, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by a son Raymond E. Gamache, and brother Normand Girard.

Her funeral with visitation will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, beginning at 8:30AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Manville.
