Barbara J. (Chamberland) Belanger

Barbara J. Belanger 78, formerly of Woonsocket, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Blackstone Valley, Health and Rehabilitation Center in Whitinsville, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Rene R. Belanger Jr. Barbara was born in Bath ME, a daughter of the late Maximin and Ruth (Savage) Chamberland.  She worked at AT Cross for many years as a valuable employee and later, in her free time, Barbara explored her great passion and talent for quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed attending quilt shows and countless local fairs dedicated to these hobbies Barbara greatly enjoyed visiting her family in Maine with her husband. She is survived by her children: Tammy Hyland and her husband Michael of Mendon, MA, Mark Belanger and his wife Dawn of N. Smithfield, and Brenda Martel of Slatersville. Barbara’s eldest child Rene R. Belanger III predeceased her. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Megan Shaffer, Holly Belanger, Amanda Plante, Heather Ranucci, and Samantha Ottavi and many great-grandchildren, and two great - great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 10:00 – 11:00 AM August 13, in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 So. Main St, Woonsocket, with a prayer service beginning at 11;00. Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Slatersville.
