Albert “Bert” J. Laprade 87, died on February 21, 2021. He was the husband of Gilberte “Jill” (Gravel) Laprade whom he married on September 1, 1958. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ida (Brousseau) Laprade. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was cited for the excellence of his work as an airplane mechanic. He subsequently worked at Whitinsville Machine Works and Nicholson Cutter Grinding Inc. Albert is remembered for many things-- his warm and giving heart, his strong work ethic and humble nature, his extraordinary intelligence and compassion, his smile and gentle humor, and especially for his deep love for his wife and family.
Besides his wife he leaves his beloved children Paul A. Laprade of Rockford, Il, and Julie A. Anzivino and her husband Frank of Lincoln, and his four grandsons, Thomas and Steven Anzivino, and Nathaniel and Jonathan Laprade. The second of five children, Albert leaves behind his brother Roland Laprade and his wife Konnie of Cocoa, FL. He was predeceased by a brother Maurice Laprade, and sisters Cecile Lemieux and Marie-Rose Andrews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. The family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 AM. Military Honors will be rendered at the conclusion of Mass. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you send donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. The family will hold a party for the celebration of Albert’s life later this year.
