Roger “Kay” Caron 96, of Annette Ave. died July 13, 2018 at Landmark Medical Center. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Philias and Fabiola (Drapeau) Caron. Kay was the founder and former owner of “Kay’s Restaurant” which he opened in March 1968 and ran for thirty three years. Kay enjoyed life and loved to entertain, whether in Woonsocket at his “Castle” or at his home in Florida. He hosted many political events at Kay’s Castle. Kay was also a huge Montreal Canadian fan.
He is survived by his sister Pauline Vermette of Woonsocket and several nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by his siblings Robert and Normand and Mariette Caron, Violette Boucher, Estelle Lucchesi, Rita Polek, and Georgette Vermette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. The family will begin receiving guests at 9:30 AM at church. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph’s Cupboard, 1200 Mendon Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 in his memory would be appreciated.
