Ricky E. Unwin Jr.

Richard “Ricky” E. Unwin Jr. 41, died Wednesday, October 11, in U Mass Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Ricky was the beloved husband of Jillian (Minutelli) Unwin. He was born in Woonsocket, the son of Richard Unwin Sr. and Deborah Morgan. Ricky was a registered sterilization technician for UMass Medical Center. He started his working life at Wright’s Farm in North Smithfield where he worked as a cook for many years, and then moved on to Women & Infants Hospital as a sterilization technician where he worked for twelve years, and later worked for Amgen before accepting a position at U Mass. He was also known as “Coach Rick”, and served as a coach for the East Woonsocket Little League and Pony League. Most of all, he was a devoted and loving husband and father, a dedicated family man who was also a great friend and coach to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Jarrek and Caden Unwin of Woonsocket, and a brother, Marcel “Moe” Martin of Swansea, MA.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday 12-4 PM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. with a service beginning at 3:30PM. Burial will be private.
