Rene E. Pearson 90, formerly of Hemond Ave, Woonsocket, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at The Holiday in Lincoln. He was the loving husband of the late Alice M. (Daignault) Pearson. Rene was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late James and Marie Rose (Girard) Pearson. He was a WWII US Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Yorktown as a tailgunner and also served in the Korean War. Rene was a self- employed tailor and owner- operator of Rene Pearson Custom Tailor in Woonsocket’s Monument Square, retiring in 1986.
Rene loved music and dancing. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, and boating. He and his wife Alice traveled and skied throughout Europe. He enjoyed spending many years with his wife Alice in their chalet in Vermont.
Rene is survived by two nieces Barbara Watts of CO and Alana Parks of MA. He was pre-deceased by his siblings, Wilfred Pearson, and Theresa Dumas, and nephews Richard and Robert Pearson.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 4, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a service in the funeral home beginning at 11:00. Burial will be private.
