Nemiah Armstrong Obituary

Nemiah Armstrong Sr. 81, of Bourdon Blvd. passed away July 18, 2019 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Martha (Jones) Armstrong. Born in Helena, AR, he was a son of the late Robert Armstrong and Ethel (Rogers) Morris. Nemiah was employed in many different positions throughout his life. He retired from the Wrentham State School in the housekeeping department after several years. He was a community leader in the Fairmount area. He hosted many families and friends of the needy for over forty plus years, always ready to lend a helping hand. As soon as he moved into the Fairmount Development, he became a father figure to all but more recently a grandfather to the current generation. Nemiah loved the ocean and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his children, Patricia Armstrong of Chicago, Nemiah Armstrong Jr., Robert L. Armstrong, and Martha Armstrong all of Woonsocket; and Annette Armstrong of CA; stepchildren, Tommy Lee Jones, Willie Bradford, Calvin James Bradford all of Woonsocket, Mary Jane Bradford of Pawtucket, and Diane Moretta Bradford of Delaware; siblings,  Lonnie Morris of CA, Jeffrey Morris, Tyrone Morris, Diane Morris, Ida May Morris all of PA, Mary Lee Deming and Priscilla Cyler both of Woonsocket, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by children, Edward Will Roberts, and Eddie Bradford, and siblings Edgar, Gregory, Edward (Pop) and Ethel (Skeet) Morris, Rosie Frisby, and Ruth Jones.

His funeral will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 in St. James Baptiste Church, 340 South Main St., Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited to attend from 3-5 PM. Burial is private.
