David John Giroux

David J. Giroux 93, formerly of Williams St. died August 30, 2017 at the Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Casey) Giroux. Mr. Giroux was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was a machinist for Whitens Machine Works for forty years before his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the VFW in Forestdale. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus Freehill Council, a Past Grand Knight and a 4th Degree Knight of the Moylan Assembly.  Mr. Giroux was a charter member of the Primrose Fire Dept.

He is survived by his son David J. Giroux of Hopedale, MA, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Michael J. Giroux, and siblings Napoleon and Charles Giroux, Ola St. Pierre, Celia Minot, and Rosanna Bourget.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home 463 South Amin St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Olo St. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours
