Lorraine E.. (Petrin) Morin

Lorraine E. Morin 70, of Woonsocket, passed away August 16, 2017 in Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket. She was the daughter of the late Roland Petrin and Adeline Goffart Petrin Garneau.

Lorraine was an advocate for others for many years, volunteering for the WHA Tenant Board of Affairs, TOCTA an organization that assisted the poor, and was an organizer for youth dances (SPATS) for children living in Woonsocket public housing.

She is survived by her four children: Tina (Morin) Plante and her husband Michael, Conor (Morin) Dufresne and his husband Corey of Harvard, MA, Michael Morin and his partner Lori Martel of Woonsocket, Janet Morin and her wife Shayla of Norwich, CT. In addition she is survived by eight grandchildren: Michael Plante Jr, Corey Plante, Ethan Morin, Brianna Morin, Caden Dufresne,           Caera Dufresne, Gyanny Brown, Danyel Ortiz, and one great granddaughter Adalyne Plante. She is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews including Scott Therien of Blackstone. She also leaves her siblings Louis Garneau and Theresa Therien. She was also the mother of the late Adeline Morin, and was the sister of the late Normand and Roland Petrin.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 415 Olo St, Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the March of Dimes online at marchofdimes.org.
