Armand J. Froment 97, of Ocala, FL formerly of Woonsocket, died July 6, 2017 at the Legacy House in Ocala. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Arthur and Florida (Lavoie) Froment. Armand was an Army-Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He was a painter and the owner and operator of Armand’s Paint Store in Woonsocket which he ran for several years. In 1996 he and his longtime companion Gert Franco opened A Special Place in Blackstone, MA which later moved to Woonsocket.
Armand was a former member of the Woonsocket Rotary Club, the Royal Order of Jesters, RI Shriners Clown Unit, Morning Star Lodge #13 and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks #850 for sixty three years. Armand loved to play cards and enjoyed going to the casinos. He was a kind and very generous man.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony’s Church, 128 Greene St. Woonsocket.
